Jewish Life

A Jewish community was present inside the walls soon after the town received its charter. It was repeatedly subjected to oppression and persecution. In 1938, under Nazi rule, the community was finally dissolved. The life of the Jewish community can still be retraced in streets and buildings, for example the previous synagogue.
